“Wine is like we would like the life to be, but the olive oil is like the life is: fruity, spicy and with a touch of bitterness”

This is the quotation of the known entrepreneur of St. Paul in Brazil, Luis Eduardo Batalha, who has recently begun the production of olive oil with the aim of raising awareness among producers in southern Brazil, where he moved 10 years ago.

With the authority he began the "war of hamburger” in Brazil by introducing Burger King network in his country, the entrepreneur, who is originally from St. Paul, does not hide his satisfaction in triggering a new revolution.

"Producing oil in Pinheiro Machado is a dream," said Batalha "Who could imagine that this would happen so quickly? I have travelled around the world to taste this flavor and I succeeded to reproduce it here, in Gaucha countryside, southern Brazil, at the borders with Uruguay and Argentina."

The first liters of oil produced from a variety of Greek olives, collected in Santana do Livramento, are the symbol of the challenge of the entrepreneur who has chosen Pieralisi to start this further challenge.
"I chose to buy a Pieralisi plant and start producing. It is the best way to show the local producers that they can plant olive trees as the oil industry is here and it is working." Batalha currently owns 120 hectares of land with 42.000 planted olive trees and  with production lines for an investment capable of processing 2.000 kg / h of oil for a production of 1.8 million liters. His goal is to ensure that all the local production is processed in his industry in order to create a centralized production base.

"It's a huge satisfaction," says Batalha after having tasted the final product of his epic with a small number of guests. "It is the demonstration of the potential of this area and we are still considering how to better exploit all the available varieties in the region."

Great success and satisfaction not only for the entrepreneur but also for the entire Pieralisi Group that has been chosen by such an important figure in the Brazilian industry to make his dream come true.
