“Gold Award 2015” to Alberto Romano’s olive oil

Frantoio Romano, Pieralisi customer for several years, has reached an excellent result at the prestigious “New York International Olive Oil Competition” where their olive oils “Gold Bio” and “Ortice Riserva” have received the quality prize “Gold Award 2015”.

The NYIOOC is the largest, and most publicized olive oil quality competition in the world, it is considered a sort of world championship.  

In this edition, despite the bad and difficult harvest season in many areas, 671 olive oils have competed in order to win the desirable New York awards.
49% of the 671 contenders to the NYIOOC have been judged defective by the international panel of experts that after three days of hard work, has rewarded 251 olive oils.

Spain has won the highest numbers of awards (73) followed by Italy (43), US (39), Greece (35, Portugal (22) and Australia (9).
