Frantoio Mazzarrini: a passion handed down from one generation to another

Everything started in 1965 when Mr. Mazzarrini Roberto, labourer at Veraci, decided to open its own olive mill in the small village of Rigomagno di Sinalunga. This olive mill had a traditional working system with one muller and hydraulic presses.
The reliability and the goodness in the working process are soon appreciated by a number of olive growers. In order to face the increasing demand for milling, Roberto is “pleasantly pushed” to increase his working line modifying it from one to four presses.

The year 1985 marks a fundamental breakthrough for the olive oil extraction as Roberto decides to substitute the old traditional plant with a new one for the continuous processing, always produced by Pieralisi. That is to grant the customers a faster milling with a high quality product.

In 1991 Roberto transfers not only the helm of the activity to his son Alberto who meanwhile, under his direction had acquired all the secrets to become a good olive miller but also his good relationships with the Veraci-Pieralisi company.

The deep olive oil passion and this relationship lead Alberto to a continuous technical and technological updating to grant the best quality of the olive oil extracted for his customers.

He assiduously keeps himself up to date, takes part in competitions, meetings and conventions in the olive oil extraction. He acquires the title of olive oil taster becoming an official Panel test member. He suggests and tries personal modifications for their installations.   

The passion inside the family is so deep that also the son Romolo is infected. The latter is always ready to cooperate with the family during olive oil campaigns.

In 2004 Romolo becomes minor partner of the family’s olive mill, working for the administration and for the technical department.
Unfortunately after the death of Roberto in 2009 everything weakens until 2013 when Romolo, just  graduated on Agriculture, awakens his father’s passion and follows the steps of his family.  

“After more than fifty years of activity we are proud of our relationship with Pieralisi Group which has been following us from the beginning” –says Mr. Romolo - “Machinesare important for our job and when start working they have to be more than perfect. In the olive mill our state-of-the-art installation controls all the olive working phases, enabling us to produce an olive oil with low acidity, rich of colour, perfume and flavour.”
