NICK SCIABICA&SONS. 80'S YEARS OF ITALIAN TRADITION IN CALIFORNIA

Sciabica family’s long long tradition of Olive Oil production begins in Sicilly, in the mill of Castelvetrano, in the province of Trapani. Nicola Sciabica (aka Nick), born in Marsala in 1887, learnt the ancient art of producing olive oil as a kid. After immigrating in the United States, Mr. Sciabica settles down in Waterbury, Connecticut.

After years of research Nicola, together with his wife and three kids, built a small ranch in Modesto, California, where he started to feel like home. 11 years later, in 1936, thanks to the knowledge acquired during his young years in Sicily, the Sciabica last name became an Olive Oil brand, trademarked as Marsala®. This Oil, tribute to Nick’s origins, has today become one of the most famous and well known in all California.

Nick’s hustle and commitment inspired his all family tree, all the way down to his great grandchildren, to continue to grow the Sciabica brand. Today, in charge of the company are in fact Nick’s grandchildren, Daniel and Nick, together with Jonathan, Nick’s great grandchildren. They are enthusiast of the “empire” built from their ancestors, who put their soul and their heart into this business.

The entire production of the Sciabica brand is based on Pieralisi machines: “every step we have made – says Jonahan Sciabica – towards growing the company ever since my grandfather started have been accomplished by partnering with Pieralisi Group. Most recently, in 2017, we have tripled the capacity of our mill and we have once again put our faith in the hands of the latest technology of Pieralisi. We are once again extremely satisfied”

The passion of this family, half Sicilian half American, gave great exposure to the Pieralisi brand in the United States and helped restating the leadership in the area.
